Different fire, but Loma Rica is out of control as well. Many of you know Ed & Donna, their house made it through last night, but fire in that area has grown to 7200 acres and is only 5% contained. Their daughter and son in-law lost there house, but all their animals made it. My nephew, Pinseeker11, lost his house this morning, as well as his 5th wheel he bought earlier this year. My brother may have lost his home, all the homes around his were gone when he left; he got out with his gun and dog- that's it. Aunt and uncles house is still an unknown, as its behind a small hill on private land. I am totally crushed, as I still can't talk to anyone in the area, but I have heard everyone is safe.

Sorry to hear all this. I drove by that one and the one in Oroville this morning. As I was working on a house this afternoon I heard another one started down the hill from me. So crazy. Agin, thoughts out to your family and friends.

Smoke is getting so thick here that it's making us cough inside the house. If it gets any worse we will have to evac just to get some clean air.

This gives you a sense of how bad things were.  This is the patrol car of a buddy of mine.

I saw cars catching on fire and was in the area of a cop car that was being taken over by flames.  I was expecting my truck to be next but like another kayaker mentioned maybe it was because it was a diesel and less flammable vapor.  Either way it was a nightmare having flying burning objects pummel your truck and not being able to see or breathe.  Glad your buddy is okay.

Man the reports from up North are pretty crazy.  I hope all our ncka brothers up north are safe and escaped with min loss. When the fires are over I hope ncka can put something together to help our affected brothers in their time of need with the best case scenario being nothing lost. :smt010

As of this afternoon VK and Saltys neighborhood was still standing.
our thoughts are with the folks affected, we will be doing a supplies run sunday to the SR area to try and lend some comfort and what we can.

It’s 4am and I can’t sleep.  I thought I would pray some more that these fires get under control and no more lives are lost.  God bless all the first responders, volunteers and anyone affected by the fires or aftermath.

I'm awake too. Made a quick round of my block. Checking for looters while some of the homeowners are gone , I don't think anyone does not know or is related to someone in any of the affected Counties . Mendocino is being ignored by the media down here but they're getting hammered up there .

Glad you made it thru that firestorm .

Be safe !!!

Yea.. every time I step outside and smell the soot and smoke (in Daly City) I can’t help but think about what’s going on up North.

Still praying for everyone affected by fires.

I am over in Manchester for the Randy Fry memorial dive competition (Saturday 10-14). I am still trying to figure out if I am going to dive or not.  Sleeps been a little messed up and stomach is still having issues.

There is supposed to be a huge raffle this afternoon raising money for urchin removal in an attempt to help the kelp and the abalone fishery.   Come on by if anyone wants to get away for the day.  Not just dive related prizes.  There are wine packages, A Bachar art, and much more.

Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.
