It wasn't Rancho Skunko this week. On the water at 7:50am, off at 1:30pm.

Started very slow. I thought it would be another dead day due to the bright moon last night. But it picked up as the day went on. Hot ticket today was green Senkos. I tried all the usual colors and the only one that worked was green. Mostly green with black flecks. Unfortunately I only had a few that color and had to use each one 'til it was destroyed. I lost count of the little LMB caught, most were in the 10" to 13" range. Did catch one at 15" and two at 18". Fun day.

Here's some pics of the nicer fish.

I wish you did...I would have enjoyed your company.

Nice day on the lake, very little to no wind.

Had to yell at two guys in boat that got too close. I had been in one spot for close to 40 min and these guys troll up next to me and stop over the area I was casting in. We had a little language barrier, but they seemed to understand my tone and gestures. They then moved on with a wave and a smile.

Sorry about bargin' in on your spot today Al......j/k :smt044

Those guys must've been watchin' "Al the Fish Slayer"  in action and thought they might pick up a tip or two. Sounds like they learned not to mess with a yak fisherman who's in the zone.

Thanks for the report and nice pix. We almost went out today but I decided to work on the honey-do list instead. Glad to see the bite is back on at RS since I'm hoping to get out next Sunday and try out the new ff.

I think I ran into those same guys @ bean hollow.  :smt013

so al, looks like a spinning reel and senko is the ticket to lots of bass.

but a casting reel and a swimbait is the ticket to one big one...

personally I have always had a hard time turning down lots of fish...

what's your feeling on that subject?

J,
I think all of us have ran into those same guys. To top it off, I watched them boat and keep fish that didn't look the legal size. Grrrrr.... I better stop.... :smt013

I'm a simple person. I don't own a quality casting reel or fancy swimbaits. The spinning reel and plastics seem to work ok for me. Taking time to study and respect the body of water helps too. RS is over fished. Too many people don't C&R at RS so the big ones aren't there anymore. 18" or 20" fish are the big fish.

I do enjoy a good day with lots of fish, and I'm pleased if I happen to catch a decent fish. Fishing is my escape...my release from the weekly pressures that life brings us.

Hmmm... that's probably more feelings than you wanted.. :smt002

Best regards,
Al
