Has anyone done a cable twin stick shifter on their transfer case?
I have a golden opportunity on an NP 205 right now and was wondering the pros and cons of cable shifters.........if you really know.

I have an atlas 2 in my ford ranger rock crawler, I run the normal twin stick shifter... it always works and was easy to fit with my seats/transmission tunnel. I would gain nothing with cable shifters, other than having to do maintenance on the cables. If the regular shifter isn't going to work with your truck/jeep/whatever then cable shifters are a great option to put the shifter where you want.

Hope that helps...

Thats does help. Thanks.
The current mod has it as close to the drivers seat in the motorhome as can be. You can see from the pics what a PITA it would be to do a twin mod on this without using cables.

It's not OCD, it's CDO... with the letters in alphabetical order, the way they should be.  I have it, too.

I seem to remember people having some problems if routed too close to exhaust.  Do you really need 2lo with the 460 or do you want to do front wheel digs in the sand?    :smt003

I had a bad fluid leak from both the transmission and the TC. The two are married.
I had the TC rebuilt and they ordered and installed twin stick shift rails by accident.
It's my choice to have them take out the TC again and put single shift rails in (if they can find some to order, it's not that easy, I looked) OR I could roll with it and get it back a lot sooner too.
A couple of advantages to the twin is it will shift a LOT easier and by using cables it would eliminate the need to fabricate anything to accommodate the distance from the shift rails to where the shifters come through the floor. Cables would also eliminate any vibration in the shifters as there was a lot at times.
The more research I do them more I am convinced to go with the cables. I only need to find out the length of cables I need and right now the motorhome is at the shop behind locked gates.
