Couple weeks ago one of my dogs got sprayed and ran over the whole house before we got a hold of him and washed him.

Washed carpets and couches and everything we could but stink lingered forever.

Was just about gone...and last night the other dog got sprayed!

 :smt013 :smt011

Got to Barley pretty quick and bathed him but the house still stunk like a mofo when I left to go to work this AM.

Will redo washing carpets and couches, but wondering if anyone has any tips of how to get the stench out of the house ASAP.

I think I got some on me when bathing the dog this AM as well...cuz I'm sitting here at my desk and can still FRIKKING SMELL IT!!

Sincerely,

Jim

Live traps for the skunks... Eliminate the problem..... Our beagle still smells when wet 1 mo later. Shot the little monsters (5) but lost all my chickens before I got them :smt013
my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!

Barley is totes adorbs dude.

Gary got skunked when we were at the Cove last month. Best results were whatever shampoo mixed with baking soda into a paste and then rubbed all over them, let it sit for about 5 minutes before rinsing. apparently the baking soda helps "scrape" the slime off. It worked great with little Gdawg, but he only got a side blast and not a full on super -soaker.

If you can get ahold of one..ozonator.
Leave the house, crank it for a couple of hours, wait a couple more then air out the house.
It gets rid of some funky @ss smells.
Apparently they will no longer send them to California....but there are ways......

+1

My dog Bella got out of the house and took a skunk down, but not before getting sprayed int the mouth and chest.  I found that Peroxide/Baking Soda/Dish soap mix worked wonders almost immediately.

How sweet is that.

Something to be said for not giving your dog too many baths after getting sprayed.  Our golden retriever got sprayed a few months ago and we gave her several baths trying to get rid of the smell (with the right shampoo and all).  That irritated her skin pretty badly - live and learn.  Now I have the skunk shampoo on hand and will give her one good bath as soon as possible.

We got lucky and she didn't get inside.... best of luck with that!
