Lake Hennessey 9/1....early! WX was hot but not the bite!

I'm gonna hit Hennessey early on Friday.....5:30 AM.  It will be hot but I'm not staying long....just can't sit on the couch one more day.  Who's crazy enough to join me?

I launched at 6 AM to a cool and breezy Lake Hennessey.  The bite was hot right out the gate for a half hour then slowed down until it died at around 8 AM.  Whopper Plopper did all the damage.  Tried spinner baits because of the wind but no love.  Tried some crank baits and drop shotting  but the only the WP was working.  No photos to share today.  Fish ranged from 10-14 inches.  Left at 11 AM when the mercury hit 97.

Did you see my report about Hennessey yesterday and missing that entire topwater bite with the backlash? Glad you were able to get on it.

Thanks for the report. I've never been to this lake. Definitely need to check it out soon.

Saw the report and thanks for the 411.  Any luck with the pictures?  I had trouble myself as Photobucket has changed and I have to learn how the other sites work. Fun lake to fish.
