It's getting to be that time at Colusa on the Sac, and you don't know if you don't go, so off I went. I launched and made my way upstream for about a mile, planning on pitching the bank with black worms. I caught bumpkis. Nada. The many boats on the river were also drawing a blank. Not much on the ff. Everyone's saying that the river is still dropping from the last rain and that when it settles the fish will show. I did see one guy get spooled by a probable sturgeon. I stayed the night in Colusa and planned to hit CL in the morning. The Sac was beautiful and can't wait to go back when the fish show.
Seeing CL from the south end first and it was windy in the morning. Blowing from the north so I went north to Rodman Slough. The bite was slow here. I finally found a pattern late, ripping a clown minnow. I caught a fish an hour for six hours fishing, my best about #4. PLastics didn't work for me today. Rodman was dirty, but just outside towards Lakeport the water was much clearer. It was slow for boaters too.
The shad gotta' be starting on the Russian...
If you don't know where you're headed, any road could get you there.

Juan, Dude when your up this way you gotta give me a call. I'm starting to feel well enough, I gotta get out of the house. We could have car pooled and got a great drift in. One of the secrets is covering some ground, the fish are there you just have to travel to find them.

Just starting to figure it out. Ty's lacrosse season ends on Sun. After that I may try Butte City. W/ two cars it would be a killer drift and multi-species.  bass=stripr, small, blk, Shad soon. Sturgeon, Salmon, cats and so on. Colusa casino after? Or the Feater for the same.
