damn. One more instance of 'criminal' and 'mastermind' mutually excluding one another.

I love the "he had live bait, but didn't catch any fish" observation from the ranger.

He should've bought a pedal kayak ... and use a motor ... give him credit for using live bait ... no fish? should've checked the tides .... he needs one of our fishing tutorials ... should've post a hookup ....

I wonder if the kayak is stolen.

Didn't they say he tossed the gun? If it's registered they can make assumptions if his registered gun is missing. If it's not registered then lack of info will make it difficult unless he answers their questions.
