Three of our local kayakers were out fishing today and one was run over by a PB. He and his kayak will be OK, but it was extremely negligent, on a clear day, and PBer just not paying any attention. Blasting their picture so we can stay clear and be aware.

Glad nobody got hurt!  Got to watch-out for those speeder PB.  If it's reckless we should contact the coastguard.

CG was contacted. They did stop after getting flagged down but apparently didn't even realize they had hit anything. Matches the description of a boat that blasted through a different group of kayakers earlier in the week.

This picture is getting blasted. Someone recognized the pics and bot but didn't know names, only that they had seen them drinking otw recently (shocker!).

Hopefully will figure out who they are soon enough.

Remember to practice safe knots, because big fish don't just break your line, they also break your heart.

If they are a repeat offender they need to be reported to the authorities. Next time gopro them and send it straight to the coast guard. If they don't do anything send it to the news. Bs man.

Not seeing a kayaker is complete bs. My boat has limited view with the pilot house and there is no way I could miss a kayakers. Plus you know sure as hell when you hit something, especially in a tin can like that gregor.

Now fog or large swell could complicate but still bs. Just remember kayaks usually don't show on radar so you might get ran over by a boat on autopilot.

I agree about the BS.  There is nothing blocking the view on that boat.

I do worry about auto pilot issues when I am out.  Especially when out of somewhere like Noyo or a busier harbor.

HBO during a hot salmon bite is completely scary for this reason.
