Points off for no radio, but hey, everybody's OK and had their PFDs on.

Having been out in that area a lot in low tide, I'm surprised this doesn't happen more frequently.

A dragon boat is a human-powered watercraft. They were traditionally made in the Pearl River Delta region of China's southern Guangdong Province out of teak wood (mostly imported from Pontianak, Indonesia) to various designs and sizes. In other parts of China, different kinds of wood are used to build these traditional watercraft. It is one of a family of traditional paddled long boats found throughout Asia, Africa, the Pacific islands and also Puerto Rico. Currently, boats are being made for competitive purposes out of carbon fiber and other lightweight materials.

Huh, that's actually kind of cool. I was envisioning a tender or something from a commercial ship. Bet that dragon boat would be rad for Hali fishing, though.  :smt003

Year ago, I saw dragon boat races in Taiwan. Those things really move out, so it's surprising they'd get stuck.
Are you pondering what I’m pondering?

I remember seeing the helo go shooting past the ARW event.  It's kinda funny because where the mishap took place, they could have easily walked the ~50 yards to dry land on the Coast Guard Island...if only it weren't for the Super Suck Mud bottom right there.  I bet no one was able to go more than 2 or 3 brutal steps.

Had the same thought. Not only for them but for myself. I've paddled around there enough to know that it gets silly shallow at times, but that never seems to stop me from feeling like the shallow water just snuck up on me.
