Did a search and couldn't find anything...any recommendations for a good fish gripper appreciated. Was going to buy the Hobie gripper today, but thought I'd see if anyone had one they really like.

Hey Widgeon,
A few years ago I bought a Lucid Fishing Grips after a bunch of NCKA guys gave it a good review. It is like the Boga grips which cost around $120, but costs only $47 on Amazon. It is made in the USA, very well made, stainless steel  and really sturdy, I have been very happy with it.

Check it out on Amazon:

Try searching "lip gripper" instead of fish gripper.

I have the Lucid grips that DaBruddah was talking about.  I like 'em a lot.  I also have a cheaper metal gripper from Walmart as a back up. They both work fine and have held up with a rinse and shot of WD-40 after each outing.

I prefer the metal grips because they spin, have a scale, and most importantly, once I have the fish on my stringer, I use the grips to love tap them between the eyes. It's one less thing to carry.

I have both the Lucid grips and Lip Grips and I use the plastic lip gripper more than the Lucid grips.  The Boga grip clones force you to get your fingers a bit too close to flopping hooks and sharp teeth for my comfort.

rotating stainless grippers (either lucid or boga).

I used to use the plastic ones, but they are more likely to damage a flopping fish. I use my plastic ones mainly for moving lings to the fillet table, so they do still have a use.

I will gladly 2nd that!!!!  I love mine and never go fishing without it.  I only wish the scale was in smaller increments and easier to read.

Isn't it about time for another group buy Derrick?   :smt003
