Just signed up. What a great site! My buddy took me out last week south of Salt Point (he has a cabin near there) and I was absolutely blown away! Fishing was so so...caught a couple of rockfish... and left a ton of hardware on the bottom, duh!! Hopefully I'm invited back!! :)

I've read through most of the regs and fish identification instructions but it's going to take a while to soak it all up. Happy to be here, looking forward to learning from you guys and getting back out there ASAP. So many questions...

Welcome to NCKA.

Glad you are trying to learn it all.  It helps to go with people who have it down, but nice to not have to rely on someone else.  When I started out I let a lot of fish go because I didn't know what they were or the size limits.

Get a fish ID book or laminated folding chart for N Cal fish and it will make things a lot easier.

Welcome, alpinefish! Kayak fishing is pretty darn cool. Be sure and practice your self-rescue and other skills if you haven't already.
