Can anyone tell me if Shelter Cove has cell coverage?  Or if there is access to WiFi?  My high schooler wants to attend GS11 with the family but he needs to have coverage (wifi is best) in order to complete school assignments that they are required to complete online between Thursday and Sunday.

Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Pete

Wi-Fi is only available in the cove through satilite. We are charged per gig. Most hotels offer it to guests, and you can buy gigs from the campground for $5 each.
If you know anyone renting a house, you can ask to use if available, but they may be subject to additional fees for excessive use.

Thanks for the reply Yakhopper.  You are just the person I was hoping to get an answer from!  I guess I might have to rob my piggybank.  Worse things to have than a kid who's responsible with his schoolwork!

ATT has zero coverage.  Verizon has spotty coverage but not really good for doing much more than email, phone calls and texts.  You're probably not going to be streaming video.

It is possible, and Eric has given you good advice.

I'd like to encourage you to definitely bring him along!

Thanks for the replies guys.  Yea he's up in the air right now.

The way they assign some of these things is they give them an "open window" of access to the report assignment webpage and they have a certain period of time (in this case thurs-sun) to get it done then the window closes.

He gets pretty anxious about his schoolwork and unknowns when it comes to completing it.  We ran into this on vacation last year.  :smt011 Definitely not the same attitude I had towards schoolwork :smt002

Again, I appreciate the advice.
