New to the site, was recommended to join from Headwaters Adventures Company locally here in Redding which is an authorized Hobie dealer. I just got a PA 14, outfitted with downrigger and Lowrance fish finder. Bought it used and haven't tried downrigger yet but am eager to. Looking to hookup with local kayakers to fish the Sacramento River. Not really into the fly fishing that everyone's doing but could use the practice and some pointers because I have no clue what kind of setup I should be using. The river seems tough to figure out if your not fly fishing. I've caught native rainbow trout and some pike minnow but most have been from creeks flowing into the river. If anyone is interested please hit me up. Thanks

Wttm, there is a kayak demo day on Saturday at Whiskeytown.  Kokanee are on the chew up there as well.
Remember to practice safe knots, because big fish don't just break your line, they also break your heart.

Welcome, I fish most days, have a lot of time on the river except this spring it has been rough fishing with all the rain and snow runoff, send me a message.
