I was planning on heading to Berryessa or Clear Lake after work but had plans changed by family resposibilties......Only had the Morning to fish in Sac.  Where to go????

While on duty checking out a car that a Gangbanger plunged in to the Sac River, I noticed a 1/2 dozen boats out @ the mouth of Discoverey Park @ 1:00am and several Mutant  :tongue2: bank fisherman with bon fires, :smt012,...Hmmmm.....Stripers!!!!!!  Check with my source @ BroadWay Bait and the word was HUGE Stripers in the American......

I only had LMB gear,  Bought some swim baits and a pencil popper and became very frustrated and again overwhlemed by the American........No love for me, but, I did talk to people who know how to fish there and they did confirm that HUGE Stripers have been caught recently from the mouth all the way up the river.

They had no luck that day also,  Long Story Longer,

They are there.......Not sure of my "Strategery" (Bushism Vocab there) ....Probably give up and head back to Montezuma.....Danglin

Danglin-

Yeah... I've heard of stripers starting to show on the AR. I've been getting my stuff together to go get them. I think that I'm ready... I'll be drifting down after work one of these days... or maybe in the morning if I have any late starts.

Here's a hint or a tip. It's time for striper's to start  showing up in the American.
They don't like flashy, be it lure or flie.
Why Do I paddle a kayak instead of a float tube or a pontoon boat? I like seeing where I'm going not where I've been!
Paddle safe and wrap'em tight.

9wt's definiitely what I would use, as well as a shooting head with about a size 2 flie that's looks like a little steel head or a trout.
