Hi, I'm Jeff, and I'm out of DC/Oakland when I'm home with family. I've been using my kayak for crab fishing for years whenever I'm home in the Bay Area, but am looking to learn how to fish for salmon this year. I've been reading through the posts, and would be totally happy to pay for a guide while I learn the ropes/get comfortable with paddling more than a mile or two out.

Welcome, new-ish Jeff.

When it comes to catching salmon from a kayak, LoletaEric is THE ONE.
Are you pondering what I’m pondering?

I have yet to meet LoletaEric but it's obvious through his YouTube and his posts here that you couldn't find a better kayak guide.

Jeff
Lolitaeric is giving you an invitation to sign up for his class on Thursday before GS11.
I signed up for the class 2 years ago and he will give you a list of what to get so you can rig up and try 3 or 4 different ways to get the salmon.
Sign up for the class and GS11, you won't regret what you learn.

What's up, Jeff? Welcome to NCKA.

I'm not a guide, but I do a lot of salmon fishing from my kayak here in the Bay Area. I'm sure we'll cross paths out there at some point, and I'd be happy to share some pointers that have helped me over the years.

So you live in DC part of the time? What do you do out there?
