Where to buy Live Anchovies on Sunday Morning?

I'm gonna try for some Halibut at ARW on Sunday. Where can I get live anchovies?

Also, what is the best place on the fish to bait the hook?

I don't think there's anywhere in the East Bay to get live anchovies right now. You might be able to score some shiner perch from Bay Tackle or that spot that used to be Mikes Bait in Oakland.

Other than that, I'd say bring a sabiki rod and see what you can jig up. Trolling frozen herring is also a good bet, or tossing a swimbait.

I used to buy them at the Berkeley marina from the docks by the scoop where the charter boats get them

+1. They open at 6am.  FB says the small scoops are $30 and large scoops are $50.

You will just as well with fresh dead or tray bait.

Was told Berkeley had the live bait and you could get mini scoops for $5 but that was second hand from LA.....
