I'm in a 4wd club that is looking at a group trip on a charter boat from perhaps Bodega down to the Emeryville area.  Rockfish/salmon combination trips or perhaps a combo/crab trip.  Probably set it up for mid May.

Any recommendations?

Captain Khanh northcal sport fishing is as good as it gets and will combo up as well.

Hulicat in HMB is great if you need a cheaper option. For salmon only the New Rayanne out of Sausalito is hard to beat. They fish hard on that boat.

Another one from Sausalito is Outer Limits (Captain Jim).  His boat is a catamaran.  If you want to do salmon, I suggest you go out of Sausalito, cut down 20-30 minutes on the water.  Also, the Big C's Charter is a nice charter boat, one of the biggest boat for a private charter and probably the most flexible combo wise.  Christian is the captain, he used to deckhand for Outer Limits.

It's hard to go wrong with New Rayann, Outer Limits, or Big C's.  All are salmon specialists.

If you decide to go south to Monterey, try Kahuna Sportsfishing at Moss Landing or Chris' Sport Fishing in Monterey.  If you go with Randy's Fishing out of Monterey, you'll likely go out with inexperienced fishermens (i.e. lots of tangle).

Captain Khanh and Hulicat are good choices out of Half Moon Bay.

Unfortunately I don't know much about Emeryville charters or anything north of SF.
