New bass tournament records were broke actually shattered by the bassmaster at Clear Lake. This is the second time I have seen this lake break world records. This time 1st place for a four day tournaments weight was 122.14 lbs thats a 6.1 average for 20 fish. Not many people have caught a 6.1 lb bass. I just wanted to brag about Clear Lake a bit. If you got a chance to go there go for it. Ive said this before H20spider your a lucky man to have that lake in your back yard.

Kevin, wanna catch a WORLD RECORD? Forget about Clear Lake and hit Crystal Springs  :smt002

It's really painful for me to drive by this lake every frigging day knowing there's a monster in there and that no one will ever know for sure :smt011

Mooch I know of two places that have the world record. One is Lake Dixon in Southern California It was caught last year by a friend of a well know big bass fisherman Mike Long. It was foul hooked so the record would not stand. It was hooked on the outside of its mouth. Second place it actually saw this fish it was in the Delta while fish and game was electro shocking fish for a survey. It was 23.53 three years ago this happened. The one in Lake Dixon was 25.1.
I wonder how big the one in the delta is know. The standing record is 22.4lbs. Did you 22 of the top 25 came from California.

Heard about that. Is this due to the fact that most our lakes are planted with bass food = hatchery trout?

reelfish,
I do appreciate how special this lake is and I try to spend as much time on the water as I can.
The more research I do about the lake the more interesting I find it and I still have alot to learn about bass fishing. My 2 years living here has been an interesting experience, no doubt.
But on the flip side, this county and the culture have a long way to evolve. It feels like 1985 here.
I like to refer to it as "the land of the lost". sad but true.

Ok, I must confess that the 80s were a pretty good time but there are still some essentials that are still missing up here and I think ive spotted a few Sleestak lurking around the banks when im night fishing, could be locals though.
Anyway,   there is no sushi and no nudey bar.

Sleestak refers to an old 1970's sci fi show called "Land of the Lost" in which sleestaks where one of the main bad guys.
