All I can see with that is trying to land a fish and accidentally getting the line caught on that ring
My biggest worry is that my wife(when I'm dead)will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it

Boomerang Line cutters. Small, compact, closes up. Best I've ever used and cuts braid, even 65 clean.

+100  :smt003 Not sure how long they will last, but man, they really cut braid/line perfectly.

Surgical  forceps/scissors combo... cost can be expensive..... 6 stitches in the finger $150 co pay...... and I yelled "hey if your throwing that shit away with the cost of health care I want them" most hospitals nowadays don't autoclave and reuse so ask if there tossing them and politely say it's on my bill put it in a biohazard bag and fork it over. They work great for building models and sniffing glue " did I type that out load?   :smt044

Boomerang scissors or 99 cent nail clipper. If you get the mail clippers with the flat blades, they are easy to sharpen.
Line cutter rings are a gimmick to me. Cool idea but not much practical use.  The do fit on the legs of some kayak seats though, which is kinda cool.

I don't think a line cutter has near the use of a small pair of scissors or forceps on your pfd but if a guy was heart set on mounting one this may be of use. It comes on a roll of weed eater twine to cut off a section. Could easily be glued to a chair or anywhere. At least it snaps closed so no accidents

I think it might be tough to cut close to the knot on a lure or whatever. I just bought the boomerang cutters after reading this topic. They work great.

Mine is going on 6 years of heavy use and abuse. It still cuts braid.
