Dungeness, Red and Rock Crab Fisheries are Open Statewide

Learn how to catch crab effectively and affordably with licensed fishing guides. Tend the gear alongside seals, sea lions and sometimes whales and dolphins with just a few minutes paddle off the beach.

This is a fun and easy trip fishing for crab 10-15 minutes off the beach in Bodega Bay. Perfect for novices and experienced anglers alike, this is a great first experience for anyone thinking about kayak fishing. Morning trips start at 9am and afternoon sessions are available, ocean conditions permitting. Dungeness Crab- Limits of 10 dungeness crabs generally exceed 20# with heavy limits approaching 30 pounds when crabbing is best.
Red and Rock Crabs - These large crab claws sell for up to $17 per pound in stores. Meaty and delicious, catches range from a few crabs to several dozen per trip. Limit-35 red and rock crabs, in combination, per person.

Learn about the kayaks used for fishing, the traps and nets, bait and gear, when and where to go, how to read the weather forecasts, how to safely handle and measure crabs plus all the crab fishing regulations and more. The kayaks make it easy.

-Trip duration is 3- 4 hours.
-A Trip Confirmation with detailed trip info, directions plus a list of stuff to bring (cloths and sundry items), is emailed with the reservation.

Crab Trip Special Fares
-$145.00 pp fully outfitted* w/kayak, gear and bait supplied. *Surfsuit/booty rentals delivered to the beach, $7-$20pp.
-Kids under 16 years with one adult, and couples, run for $220.00 on a tandem kayak. Kids do not need a fishing license. BYOKayak and Bait-only $125pp.
*Anglers 16 years and older need to purchase a fishing license, available at most sporting goods stores and the Union 76 Station in Bodega Bay.

Updates: It's been a good Dungeness season and the catch is on. Most trips fish as scheduled, all with nice conditions at the beach. Some trips may require rescheduling due to weather.

An extraordinary experience on Bodega Bay, this is a great trip for young and old, families, friends and hardcore anglers too.
