I went to the Delta Friday with my son Aaron. We launched from Orwood at daylight and went south to Salmon slough.
Started the day with a two pounder where a shallow mud bank meet some riprap( rock wall ). We fished there about 3 hrs for 7 fish between the two of us. This area can be reached by kayak from Tracy Oasis marina. Once you launch you head east about 1.5miles that would place you at Salmon slough. This area is very natural Delta not to much restoration on the leavies. Tracy Oasis has a nice tackle shop dedicated to bass fishing the delta also. After that visit there, we went to lunch back at Orwood.  Its a good place for a sit down meal with lots of activity and good food. After that we left for Whites slough on the opposite side of the Delta just north of Stockton. This area can also be reached by kayak.
Kings Island resort would be the place to launch then head north up Honker cut about 1 mile. There is some access to the Levee roads there. I saw a few car parked there and some people float tubing. Anyhow this is where my son open up a can of WOOP-A$$ on me. He caught 17 bass to my 5 :smt012. I guess I will sum it up as my good guide service helped him out or I must have taught him well. :smt044 All in all I had a very good time with him as our fishing trips are fewer and farther between now hes a young man with a son of his own. Most the fish were caught on a Senko 6in lamanent. And dead sticking the lure. A total of 29 bass for the day nothing big but a good time. :smt006

Thanks for the report.  I love the delta, every inch of it looks like its holding fish.  And about your son opening the can of whoop ass......thats just natural progression.  I open it on my old man all the time then he pats himself on the back for the fine job he did putting me on the fish  :smt001
