Hey all,

I picked a bunch of mussels yesterday after calling the shellfish hotline (800-553-4133). For some reason I decided to check online again right before we cooked them (which I never usually do)

Sure enough, on Feb 2 the California Department of Public Health sent out a press release saying to not eat mussels from Mendocino county because of PSP (paralytic shellfish poisoning).

I called them today, and it turns out that some sort of miscommunication happened and they didn't update the phone line. The phone line is supposed to be THE most up to date!!!!

Please share with everyone and anyone that might go eat mussels!!!! And feel free to call the CDPH like I did and express just how messed up that is. They need to get there shit straight, they should have had it all figured out a LONG TIME AGO.
