Going up to Bragg to kick off my vacation, before we head to the trinity lake area. Google is giving some conflicting routes so i just wondered if anyone has a route to Bragg they like over another.
Thanks!

i usually take 128 to 1 and the north to bragg, from healdsburg its about 1.5hr drive but there is construction going on on 128 and delays up to 20-30 min are possible, cameron

I prefer to take 128, like Cameron. If you're heading up there on a Friday Caltrans usually has things wrapped up around lunch time.

For some strange reason I find 128 to be faster. It's a better drive scenically I think too. Vineyards, redwoods, Navarro River ect. Be sure to stop at the Philo apple stand if you take 128. Oh and the Booneville Brewery!

There is no real good way, but I prefer the scenery on 128... the stretch from cloverdale to boonville is a bit of a biatch though.  Hwy 20 from willits just sucks, though it is pretty direct.  Perhaps the easiest, not the shortest mind you is to take 101 to ukiah and then cut over 253 to boonville and take 128 from there.

The wife keeps talking brewery and winery, and she's volunteered to drive so it sounds like the 128 might be our road :smt044 I remember it from the Elk tourney days. Pepperwood pottery is a cool stop too.

I live in Fort Bragg and used to have to drive to Healdsburg all the time for work.  It is just about a draw timewise.  It's around 5 minutes faster if you go the Route 20 route.  But if you go up 128, you get to look at ocean conditions for a twenty mile stretch.  Also, 128 offers the Gowen's Orchard road stop where you can buy great fruit and cider.  I like 128 better, but either way at this time of the year you'll get stuck behind slow RVs.

I always take the loop route Hwy 20 there and 128 back. Although sometimes you get stuck behind RV or Trucks on 128
