4/7/07 Salmon - South swell up?

Looking to possibly go out the opening weekend, today (1 wk ahead) I checked the surfing website (Wetsand.com) and got this not so good news:

 " Saturday the 7th we're expecting some southerly swell from 180-190 degrees to come in from a system breaking off the ice cap near Antarctica. Although based on 24h+ models, this short-range simulation combined with recent activity trends gives high confidence on the models' projections today. This system should have seas in the 35-foot range, but its trajectory is more east than north. Considering this, we're looking at 14-second+ swell from 180-190 with chest high sets on the average"

They don't mean, I think, 35 ft swells near our coast, but a good (for surfers) size south swell nevertheless.  Maybe go out on the Mntry side of the bay?

I think they mean 35 foot within the storm itself.

Chest high waves are small.....3-4 ft on the beach.

You probably would not even notice the swell outside.

I've probably just got a case of the jitters over the fact that I'll just have to do the full-on prep and get up early routine as well as guess how insane the PB traffic will be - I should just learn to accept the fact that there are a certain number of "natural turn arounds" (take one look and naturally turn around and go back home) especially early in the season.  I hope I'm pleasantly surprised.
