Hime the sail line above my head. The line is usually pressed up against my cheek all day. Plus you can also mount rod holders and other gear to it

Got it---that sail line always annoys me. I'm going to have to rig up something like that...

If you go onto the Uyeda brothers page in Hawaii they use pvc towers for their TI .

Very true, the tower helps that annoying line stay out of your face and also angles the sail and gives you a better sail. I have heard from hobie team it even does add speed but I have not speed clocked yet.

If you choose to do my setup, you have to use the curve and not straight bottom brackets to allow the degree the top haul allows. I also used diy-custom aluminum plates to assure it never gets loose. Each inside plate must be bent accord to boat haul for tite fit..
