Hwy 50 to Tahoe Pit Stop

If you are headed to Tahoe and in need of a serious pit stop.....i.e....too tired to go on, too late to go on, wx sucks too bad to go on....PM or call me.

Instead of a "pit stop" maybe some of us will make it a destination target ....sort of a spa vacation. Do you allow dogs, kids, angry wives, oh and will you baby sit wife, dog, and kids while I hit the mountain..

Great sharing this! I lived in south lake for 8 years and people would risk it all the time, not a good idea!

If I come over tonight, do I get dinner and a morning wake up call?  I wanna hit the road 'bout 6am.  Heading up to ski.  Sierra At Tahoe has been closed for 3 days now.  Bottomless powder.  But Denise hates it when I'm up that early making noise and cursing because I can't find things or even make my own coffee. 

Only been over 50 once and that was years ago. Would you recommend 50 over 80 to get to Reno?

Depends on where you want to go or ski or gamble.

 I might actually take you up on that sometime this winter. In the past I'd drive up to Somerset Friday night 9-10ish, but getting that wood stove pumping out heat and keeping it warm can be a PITA

I don't know....

Sonoramike is probably from Sonora.  That's on Hwy 49 south of Placerville.  He should probably take 49 North to 50 and take 50 up and over to Carson City and then on to Reno.  Either that or take 49 all the way to Auburn and that route is very slow and twisty going through the North fork of American River canyon.
