If you  have  packrats/rats in your area it is wintertime take a look what 2 weeks last winter accumulated in my old beater of a car. Sprinter RV also has insulation eaten away and  a search on internet said they love the RV insulation. A simple fix is to place mothballs  under your hood or in storage areas of RV or your  zip tie the  plastic containers under hood area they do not like the smell. A friend in Placerville with a newer jeep SUV had a rodent chew through  the $3000 wiring harness. It can be expensive.

FYI I cleaned out the  acorns  3- 5 gallon buckets  full car started right up and I sold it even after a few of the  acorns caught fire on the test drive .

Just yesterday I cleaned about a gallon of acorns out of my little bronco's blower fan. I'm putting 1/4" mesh over the cowl access as my next project.

My cat has received a "needs improvement " job evaluation.

I set the rat sized sticky traps under my hood. No bait or they'll be warned off.  For the really BIG rats, screw the trap to a 2x4 or they'll crawl off.

Good old fashioned snap traps, In my experience, they're smart, kill a couple and the rest will avoid the place at least for awhile.
