Tried out my new lighting set up for the first time and had a blast.  2400 lumens on the bar light and  1200 lumens on the helmet

Bar light is a magicshine eagle 2 but no longer available.  The helmet light is by bright eyes, light is good, helmet mount is marginal for biking but I modified it  with some zip ties and it worked great . got them off Amazon. total cost was about $150

Serious fun for this 60 year old kid. Its about 2 hours and 2000 feet of climbing in total.  The last downhill is about 3 miles long and drops 1200 feet.

Damn and people call me crazy for yakin in the ocean at 45 yrs old. My last mountain bike experience was 8 yrs ago during deer rifle season and a 4X4 bull elk standing 10 inches from the front tire after I got stopped going down hill that set my fright level to code brown cuz I needed new shirts. That's awesome and would make some good night yakin lights in the bay as well.

Lights are cool and all, but you should also try full moon no-light rides if you haven't already. A-stinkin'-mazing...

No lighting trips were the norm for me back in the late 80's on the hills between Vacaville and Fiarifield....ahem, back in my younger days.

Those lights seem to work very well.  The bike mounted one https://www.amazon.com/MagicShine-Eagle-M2-Rechargeable-Headlight/dp/B015JB025M is still available through Amazon but certainly not cheap.

hmmm, the link shows a different light though the one you used is on the page to purchase and listed in stock for $119

Thanks for sharing the videl.

  Where is this trail ?

Brushy Peak Preserve on Laughlin rd in Livermore.  Its on the north side of 580 between Vasco and Greenville roads using Northfront rd to get to Laughlin.  Parking lot closes at 5 but there is road parking and the park itself is open until 10pm

I miss night rides. Sly Park in the summer is a fun ride. Lots of single track.
