Fishing in the dark @ Rancho Seco 3/23/07

I left work a little early today and headed to RS. On the water at 2:30pm, off around 8:20pm.
Nice day on the water, no wind and very few people. I tried last week's hot location and caught three lmb. Lots of hits. The little ones were tugging at the tail of the senko. As I was heading back, I stopped to chat with another boater. He suggested I stay after sunset and things should pick up. Did as suggested and caught 4 in the dark. The biggest was 16"

Nice job... I may have to give that place a try. Tote tells me that place is heating up. I've also heard the same thing about fishing after the sun sets. Definitely going to need to do that soon.

 strong work! and thanks for the night fishing inspiration.  Ive been trying to line up the moon with my rotating work schedule but ive been foiled so far.  got to love that creepy otherwordly feeling at night, not to mention all the other creatures that are on the move.  I may try to go tonight.

Very CREEPY!  And talk about noisy...it's amazing how noisy all those frogs, bugs, birds and other unknown creatures are at night. And then there's the eyes reflecting off the bank. Plus there wasn't another boat in sight. Very creepy....

The thing that worried me most was the skunk smell near my truck. I didn't want an encounter with Pepe LePew.



Campngolf: I may go out again next Saturday. I'll post a hookup if I go.

If you plan to go night fishing, you have to be in the gate before 6pm. You can't get in after that.
The auto gate will let you exit anytime after that.
