Auto auction if your going to pay cash look  Oakland and I know there's one in San Jose but 3 via auction work well and I always change the oil and put new tires on anything I buy anyways

Well I like you guys idea.
I placed a few calls to talk to "internet sale dept". ALL, yes all of them, beat costco price by $200-$400.
I'll see when they start beating price from one dealer to another.   :smt005

I'm curious. Do you place a value on your time? Time spent in frustration?

I value my time very highly. If my time is wasted, I can never get it back.

You spent time visiting at least 3 dealerships, time on the phone and time on the Internet. From the looks of your posts you had some very frustrating moments. And you're still at it. What is that worth?

When I walk into a dealer, use a plan like Costco, pay cash and leave, $200 isn't much extra.
I would gladly pay that price to avoid what you're going through.

I wish you the best of luck. I hope you find a great deal. You have certainly worked hard for it.

You only evaluate the "after events". If I knew this, I would avoid going to the dealers in the first place.
I would just send my crafted email to all of them instead.

This lesson can be learned by who is reading this.

Very true... It's a good lesson. It's a shame buying a car can be such a pain in the ass.

Like I said, I wish you the best. I hope it all works out for you.

Bought the 2017 Sienna today for $1,146 below invoice.
All it took was e-mails to local dealers.  :smt006

So, I heard a great tip from the professor that taught my negotiations course in law school.  Write up a form letter listing the specifics that you want and the price that you want, and send it to every dealership in the state with your price, letting them know who else is getting the letter.  Apparently, he's been doing that for 40 years and ALWAYS gets dealers calling him or writing with bids UNDER his listed price.

Maybe try that?
