Well I tried emailing video to Sean but maxed out what the server allowed. So I hooked up to U-tube,hope this works.
This is Sean on anchor trying to turn the sturgeon before it goes under the Montezuma bridge. You can see the fish on the left as it rolls. At the same time I'm flagging down the boat in the distance that is about to go under the bridge and over the fish.

This is halfway through the battle,Sean is just starting to make significant gains in line.I'm thinking about going up current so I can fish.

Sean's gaining line but he's worried about breaking his Kunz "Reel-rod"
Sean's got the fish up to the boat and it breaks the surface, but he can see it foul hooked in the peduncle. So I tell him he has to let it go.It's an oversize fish anyhow. Then in an instant,it's gone "DOH!".Sean can still see the fish under him on his fishfinder.

 A sad man

That is great stuff...Great composure Scawfish, I think many colorful metaphors could have been flying if that was me :smt091

That boat approaching in the 1st shot really sums it up about some of the danger out there.

about another 2000 yards or so North from the bridge from where you where is a 45'/50' hole, wider area of the slough too.

Thanks again....great shots...........Danglin

You have remarkable restraint on your language.  I was anticipating some exceptional swearing.
The video is outstanding.  Very nice to have a partner to stop fishing (esp. when you were marking many fish) to give a hand and also to record the event.

My little Canon elph was in a waterproof housing so you can't hear Sean.It was a funny commentary though :smt005.The video would probably be better if I cleaned the lens cover.Next time I'll try my other camera with stabilization and more zoom.

Nice clips Mark.  That rod is rated for 12-25# line.  Same blank that I landed that 72 incher with... pretty good power for such a light stick.  I think you pretty much had 'er maxed out.  Glad she held for ya.
