 :smt006 Since you asked.....
I've moved on from the stearing as I could not get the ball and socket connector i was looking for from my hardware store.
What prompted the post was I was looking for suggestions on a DIY solution similar to the wiring of a rudder kit. After muchcontemplation, I figured to do it that way and do it right I should just buy a kit.
But I'm cheep and there expensive so... stick and joint tomorrow I hope to find my parts at the auto shop.
This had been a project for a while I got the yak and motor together. The motor control was fried when I bought it so didn't know if it even worked. Well pulling parts off another trolling motor I have, I got the motornrunning.nso I bought another speed control and eventually figured out the phasing? Kind of a pain in the ass.  But the hardest part was building a housing for the controler.it I think it came out good.
I diddent like how loose the stearing was with how the shaft was connected to the motor bracket janky set up from the factory, kinda just fit thru an over sized hole in rec. tubing sonic fit some PP blocks around it and added springs so I could adjust how tight the steering is.
Then I customized some knobs for.mounting the motor to the yak, ran the wires now I've got.to get a disconnect for the battery box (suggestions?) And rig the steering arm.
I'm home schooling tomorrow so my girls are gonna get some shop time in with dad.
Yeah buddy!
Cant wait to run out of juice out father than I wanted to paddle in th we first place

I use two lithium batteries connected with a battery switch so when one battery dies, I know I have half my power left.
