So I've been stocking the board here for a few months ever since my father-in-law introduced me to "kayak fishing".  I decided to rent a Prowler 13 at Monterey Kayaks this past weekend and had a blast.  Of course, I wasn't able to fish, but got an idea of how the yak worked in the water and I must say, it was awesome!

Anyway, just wanted to say hello and I hope to meet some of you on the water one day soon, once I get a kayak.

Thanks guys.  Yes, the madness is about to begin.  I've been researching pros/cons of various kayaks already.  Even been researching different clothing, paddles, PFD's, fish finders, etc.  I'm sure I'll buy a used kayak at first to get a taste (I know there are some good deals in classifieds as I speak), but want to test drive a few more before I make a purchase.

See you around.

Howdy Ethan,

You are not the only new guy here!  I've been out once with a couple guys here, and talked to more of them.  They are super-welcoming.

Looking forward to meeting you!

Rick

I'm 6'0 about 195 lbs.  I like the Prowler 13 but I had a lot of water come into the yak when I was paddling.  It seems the sides were really low to the water.

I would be all over that P-15 like flies on horse s**t but I'm having a baby in two weeks. :smt001.  Da wife might not see eye to eye on that purchase...at least not right now.

Rick, I agree.  In reading the various posts, everybody is very welcoming and willing to help in anyway.  Very good quality I like about NCKA.
