Hey All,

I'm headed to San Diego in mid-May for my bachelor party and nothing would be more awesome than to book a fishing charter for a day or two while down there. Does anyone have a general idea of some great deals on charters or who can put me on the fish. Gonna have a group of 8-10 and would like to keep costs to about 200 per person. Not looking for anything fancy, but definitely wanna get on the water and put some fish on the deck. Looking to get the ball rolling on plans and set up reservations no later than end of February. Any suggestions are helpful.  :smt001

Thanks!

For your price range, the best bet would be to book a 3/4 day, overnight, or 1.5 day trip on one of the charter boats.  These trips will typically run $145-350 depending on the boat and length of trip + $$ for tip, booze, filleting fish, meals.   Take a look at Fishermans Landing, H&M Landing, Point Loma, and all the other landings.  I would start at the 3 I mentioned and look elsewhere if you don't find what you like.

Around mid May last year, I think they were catching some bluefin tuna on the 1.5 day trips and yellowtail on the 3/4 day trips.  I think the bluefin thing might be a long shot so probably expect more yellowtail, rockfish and maybe bonito?

Congrats on getting married and hope you guys go slay some fish.
