Don't think I'll do one of these derbies again. My usually calm, low pressure little lake was busy today. I've never seen so many people there before. It was good to see families and lots of kids fishing. The banks were packed and lots of boats, kayaks, 'toons, and other water craft. The people I talked to on the water were very friendly and courteous to the other boaters. Not sure how well the bank people got along. The fishing was slow even though they planted this morning. I didn't see anyone catch a fish, but there was talk of a few brought in.

I was on the water around 9am, off 11:30. Trolled around the lake with various lures for no love. Got tired of that so I worked some Senkos. Hooked what felt like a small bass and lost it in the weeds. Can't wait for the bass bite to start...soon!

The weather was great, very little wind...a nice day to be on the water.

Here's some pics:

Team Campngolf?  I should have asked...

The dock wasn't too busy when I arrived. Should have got a pic as I was leaving.
It was packed.

That be us. Thanks for the photo. And since we didn't come home with any fish, it's nice proof for the boss that we did try. I think she thought we spent the day spending money at Sportsmans Warehouse.

That's the busiest I've seen Seco too. And we didn't see ANY fish caught either.

Alfredo, My wife and I fished Rancho Seco on Thursday for nada. It was a nice day on the water, about 3 other water craft and only 5 shore fishermen.Didn't see any hook ups or fish on stringers. What we did see was some good looking trout in the 18 to 24 inch range cruising around. We were throwing lures from around 10 till 2:30. Pretty late start, gotta be more productive at sunrise or sunset I would guess.
