Alex, I really want to meet you. Really bad. Not to engage you, just so I know who you are. I really, really want to be able to avoid you. I know we are all entitled to our opinion, and free to say what we wish, but you have proven over the course of this last year, that you have an issue with me. I honestly could care less. News flag bro, i do not like you, either. I would appreciate you taking the high road, and I will do the same, and keep it to yourself when it comes to commenting on each other's stuff.

I'm going to go eat some razor clams and rock crab.  If our God is a merciful God, I will get ASP and forget that I ever read this exchange between Montana and Alex.

Look guys, I will introduce you at the cove sometime and I think you'll like each other.  Berkeley liberals and Jefferson rednecks can get along, believe it or not.  Just because someone challenges your world view doesn't mean that you need to get your panties in a twist.  So yeah, avoid each other on the boards if you wish, but don't bait each other either.  And you don't have to know what the other looks like to do that.

Montana - I don't dislike you. I'd actually like to meet you some time so we can crack some beers and shoot the shit. It's GOOD to engage with people who see the world from a different perspective. I imagine we'd find a lot more common ground than you think.

Hell next thing you know  Dungeness will be $50 a pound and every crab will be required to be tested and marked with all  levels of  bad stuff or purported bad stuff.

Thanks Sharky for the input.

Ok, here's the scoop. Yup, it's still there. It's also a fake boogie man. My buddy has been obtaining the rc for the health department. He's been crabbing below pigeon pt. He's been selling these crab all summer long. Same crab that's testing around 200ppm. No one has gotten sick. They called him in to tell him they were going to close the fishery down. He arrived with his lawyer. The lawyer them that their criteria does not meet  accepted scientific standards and they have proof it didn't make people sick. He warned them that if they did close it without acceptable science they would be sued for the value of catch. Dungies and rock.. This sent them in a tail spin. They decided to keep the bullshit advisory but not close the fishery. Same fishery testing 200. Now someone help me here. 200 is a bigger number than 30 right? And 30 is their threshold, but they won't close it at 200.|¿?wtf!!!

It's all good, man. No hard feelings.

I had to do a few runs of Prednisone before I ended up getting sinus surgery. That shit was no fun. It seriously messed with my mood.

Hope you get through it and move on to better days.

Cheers,

Alex

http://www.nationalgeographic.com/magazine/2016/09/warm-water-pacific-coast-algae-nino/

An interesting article describing the situation along the eastern Pacific coast and why the crabs have been posioned.  Probably also describes why I have caught less than half the salmon in south east Alaska in the last two years than in the previous years I fished there.
Probably has something to do with the "starving abalone" also.
