Newroof here, the name is Chris. Located in Santa Cruz Mtns. I have spent many years fishing lakes, rivers and ocean for pleasure and owned boats , canoes and float tubes. Last year though I purchased 3 inexpensive fishing kayaks to visit northern California in the RV. My 2 kids and I toured for a few weeks up the 395 and into southern Oregon and had a great time. This year a few excursions have been made into the ocean at SC. The round trip today was about 6 miles and I am now ready to get a better kayak after towing my 11 year old the last 2. A great trip today with an 8 pound starry flounder and some blue rockfish. My nephew has an OC Trident and was with us which further highlighted our lack of speed/ ease. I can't wait to get to Big Sur. A place I have always wished to fish but could not get to.

Welcome aboard.  Use the used kayaks for big sur.  That place is awesome but can be hard on you and kayaks.  Paddling is not the issue but the launch and landings can be brutal.  I have been banged up on rocks and others have punctured their kayaks so just be aware of the risks.
