I'll post mine in a few days, and not on your thread cause i know how you get about that. Lol.  :smt002

Hahaha - :smt005  I haven't reached my "Crying like a Little Bitch" threshold with you, Keith.  Yet.  :smt003

I told Rob I was sorry for being uptight - he's a good guy and just likes to talk shit on the boards.  It's all good.

Thanks for the nice replies, guys, and thank you, Lost Anchovy, for the recommendation.  I look forward to getting people on this salmon bite, and Shelter Cove has gotten hot and heavy too - it's open for salmon until early November, and I got my personal best in mid September - 38 pounds.

I'm a pusher right now - Humboldt's hot!

Lol. I do cry one after losing some big fish. The pain is brutal. It's true, but I man up and get back on, only to cry again. It's a love/hate relationship with the chrome. Any season angler knows this but the glory of victory is like no other. Get your chrome on guys. Get out there!!

P.S. Eric you punk, i'll slap you with a "T-tail" again for calling me out. Lol.  :smt002

Did a trip with Eric on Monday out of Humboldt Bay.  I wanted to learn about the fishing up north and also to get a good shot at salmon. Eric told me about the Bay and nearby ocean, and other areas he is very familiar with.  He explained and showed me the way the area sets up and saved me years of trying to find out it's details.  He also zeroed in on the best area, where I caught a salmon on my first line drop. He caught one of his in an area where all my experience fishing for a zillion years would have told me never to try. There is always more to learn and fishing with Eric taught me a lot. Lot of fun too.
Thanks Eric.

Thanks for the nod, Bob.  Great time out there Monday.  :smt001

I loved how you got that king in the net in 7 seconds flat after asking if we're getting too close to the Death Zone!  :smt005

Ahhh, yes it was a great trip

Yeah, Double Day! As we really got underway on the first leg of The Trudge, I was concerned that, at least for me, I was biting off more than I could chew in one day with two separate locations and adventures. Then we got in the water, yes.

Visibility varied, some good, some poor, and I loved it there! After an hour and a half in the water seeking our treasure, I was tired, the wind had come up, I was finished for now. Changed out of the wetsuit and readied for the return trek, I felt re-invigorated.

We traveled back in to town, switched boats and headed north for the bay. After the first walk, the launch there was a dream! Nice to see the NCKA crew out in force, felt at home in another cool place.

Working our way around the bay in search of Salmon, we had good guidance, fresh bait and beautiful conditions. The gods were not with us for the bite, but it was still a great time. I wished it was in the cars for us to stay and fish Sunday, too, but both Coho Joe and I had other obligations.

Thanks Eric for the hospitality, lessons, expertise and fun! I just want to go back right away!
