I was told fishing is not allowed when the salmon are running? Is that true? I've only been there twice and my girlfriend wants to go someplace scenic for pictures. I figured if bring some bass gear and just kill time?

She took this last night at the port.

I have never heard of it being restricted.  That would be one helluva long restriction 7/16 until early December.

I felt the same way, I was on the water there and and saw another yakangler. So of course I went by to say hi but he was pretty reserved the only thing I got out of him was fishing wasn't allowed during salmon season.

Thanks for the reply we are headed there now if you see us come say hi. 3 Hobie kayaks 2 PAs and one outback (gf)

You can still fish for other species but fishing for salmon is not allowed.

The launch was completely closed? What time did you go? They sometimes open the gate pretty late.

Salmon fishing is closed on the Cosumnes side. I've also heard that you can get in trouble if you catch a salmon on the Moke side and bring it back to your car coming through the Cosumnes. Rangers have no way of knowing where you caught it and could issue a citation for salmon fishing in off limits waters.

Wow that stinks.  I just went to the website and it says that they are doing some renovations through September 15th but the dock is open?

I'm glad that this was posted as we were thinking of heading down this way next weekend. :-(
