Man this really stared something eh? While I was fishing yesterday I had a great thought. That you should be able to decide what kayak you want all by yourself.

The total access to the hull interior is paramount for me in decision making. Access to everything you need. But want to keep below deck.

All these suggestions seem to fit,,, a Raptor! :smt002   Everything you need access too, right at your side.      8' rods fit easily inside.  No gear offerings to Neptune...   as this boat won't tip over.   Perfect for the Fly Fisherman, you don't have all those protrusions sticking out to snag a line on.      You won't need the rudder as the low bow profile eliminates any wind cocking issues.   But if you decided to go with the rudder, the foot controls are bombproof when it encounters sand.  They pivot, rather than slide, allowing you to use them as intended, as a foot brace.   Weight is 60 lbs, easily loaded on your vehicle without the need for any special rack attachments.
Our Sacramento dealer has one on the showroom floor, check it out.   If you want to see how it performs in the ocean,  I'd be happy to set you up with a demo.

Buy Yakhoppers 15 you wont regret it ever. The total access to the hull interior is paramount for me in decision making. Access to everything you need. But want to keep below deck.

+1 on the total access and "everything you need". I've seen Craig get ready to launch, and that man had the whole kitchen sink in that rodpod.  You could probably paddle up to him and ask for Grey Poupon, and he'd have it.  ;-)
I like my T13 for thd same reason, + it paddles awesome

(somewhat reluctant to join the dark side though)

Why?

Most of their crafts don't interest me, I find it hard to figure out why. I'm not a big guy and the outback felt like a floating lazy boy, I couldn't even hang my legs off the side. So I tried a revo 13, It conformed to my size very well and was comftorble, I could definately peddleit faster than I could paddle anything else. I just don't like the feel of them compared to most others I've been on.

Fair enough.

Best of luck in your search.

I agree. I don't want anyone to choose a ride for me but to share their opinions and expieriences of what they paddle/peddle. I'd much rather hear a fellow fisherman describe his ride than read a description.

OK T15 is what I'm really interested at this point but my priority is tho sell the bikes then make a decision.

I am not sponsored by anyone and for ocean it kind of depends on how far you are paddling. For salmon and sea bass the paddle distances can be 10-20 miles/day and my choices in order would be hobie adventure, tarpon 160, prowler 15, and trident 15. For ocean fishing less than 10 miles/day for rockfish my choices would be in order trident 13, tarpon 14 or RTM. The hobie loses it's advantages for short distances and where you are paddling through kelp or have a long portage or a technical surf launch.

Besides paddling distance, portage distance and surf launch are the other variables. If you have long portages or rope drops, lighter boats make it easier. For surf launches, easy internal storage and a nimble boat are preferred.

If you are looking for a lightweight, quality built fishing yak, wait for the Eddyline Calypso 14' before making your decision. The 12' Calypso is the bomb!!!

The first kayak i bought for saltwater was a prowler 15 and it is still my favorite paddling kayak. My T15 is more functional and my adventure is faster, but for paddling pleasure and confidence when the WX goes bad, it is still my favorite.
