Capt Sloppywood invited me to fish Tomales today.  We launched at 6:30 to perfect WX.  Also launching was Philip also a NCKA member with an electric powered yak.  Bait was scarce today but Dave was able to find some.  I used tray bait.  Early on Dave had a hit-no-stick.  Later he a battled a bat ray for about 10 minutes....but he got his leader back.  I drug my baits all over the place for not.  Then around 9:30 I hook up but suprise......it's another bat ray.....nice fight but not the right species.  We ended the day early and experienced a nice acrobatic show from some threshers working the bay.  A few photos for your approval....

Not a halibut!

Dave on the hunt.

Had fun Sam ThAnk you for coming out to play. I think it's time to target threshers shark considering the frequency of jumping sharks I have seen in the past two days. I will be going out again Mon or Tuesday or both.

Yeah I met Phil today. He has a sweet set up. He was jamming around with his trolling motor. I was a little jealous :smt003

Don't feel guilty Rob. :smt003 . Sometimes the rewards are in the journey and the people you meet along the way. I love spending time  on Tomales Bay and it is a spectacular place full of natural wonders. I saw threshers jumping completely out of the water several times and once very close to me and Sam. Awesome.
