Now that I'm a senior I find that I have a harder time motivating myself to load up my kayak and go over to Marin to fish for stripers.  The weather is hot, the TV is relaxing, and the refrigerator is close.  Is anyone doing anything, or should I continue my lazy ways.  Thanks for any motivation you can send my way.

Had to make a Costco run today and it said it was 104 then went home and it was 64 with fog.  40 degree difference is crazy but when I have days like that I remember why I love the coast.

There are days the TV is just to good and motivation is lacking even when I can be fishing in minutes from my house.  So completely get it if you had to go for a longer drive.

As for motivation all I can say is getting out is the hard part.  Once out I always feel better.

I certainly know the feeling.  I'm only 53 but seem to deal with constant aches, pains and injuries that make heading out very tough.  When everything else seems to work out I run into ot at work or life just gets in the way.  Based on my old journals, I used to fish, hunt, camp, hike etc etc on average about 180 days out of the year.  Now I'm lucky hit to 20.

One of the reasons I bought a kayak and joined this group was to open up opportunities to get out more.  People tend to drive other people.  They feed off of each other, offer encouragement and make getting out easier.  I was planning to make a trip out yesterday to Liberty Island and hook up with Ken, then had to work Saturday and have an injury to my left arm.  I can barely lift a friggin coffee cup. :smt011

Hi this is my two cents....I am a retired printer went for a physical doc said your in good health but your vitamin D is low. She said the older you get the harder it is to get enough vitamin D and that sun was the best and if you cant get sun then supplements are fine. I kayak at least once or twice a week but I always put on sun screen on, so I will wait till I have been out on the water for awhile before I put some screen on. Google low vitamin D and check it yourself. Get up off your butt and go get some D and some exercise while your at it. You bought that kayak for something might as well put it to good use.
I probably just save your life.....LOL
