I have a tear on the back rest of my Vantage CT Seat.   Its still on warranty and I filed a claim with my dealer and waiting to hear back from Hobie.  The dealer told me, Hobie sends out new mesh fabric and does not replace the seat.
I am wondering if this has happened to anybody else.

Thanks in advance..

yup, happen to me only 3 months in last year... :smt012

Adventure replaced the seat. :smt002

I think I might left the lumbar support too tight. :smt009

I ended up buying different lumbar support add-on. :smt007

I don't think the fabric material is heavy enough for long term use. I am 185 lbs. I own a 2015 Revo 13.

Found this at the forum: http://www.hobiecat.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=78&t=56273
Looks  like you can buy the fabric only for the PA: http://shop.mariner-sails.com/Hobie-Replacement-Fabric-Kit-Vantage-Seat-HC-84507801.htm

mel,
do you use the lumbar adjuster?

i vaguely remember naoaki mentioning to release the tension after use.  i didn't pay too much attention at the time since i didn't have one :smt002

now i don't even use the lumbar adjuster knob because i'm afraid it might break.  luckily the support as is works for me.

yeah that lumbar knob feels very fragile. I'm also scared that the wire inside the adjuster for leaning back will rust out

I checked my vantage seat last night and there is two small tear underneath where the pop out pegs are stored. Front of the seat.

Its approaching my one year mark of ownership. How do I go about getting them to replace it? I order it through an online vendor, wateroutfitters.com, can I go to any local dealership and request a replacement?

No word on my claim up to now. I put in my warranty claim with Adventure Sports since I bought it there.  I was told Hobie is slow to respond because they are busy with outdoor tradeshows at this time.

Still waiting from the dealer for final word on my warranty claim
I was told the back rest claim was approved but no word on the bottom that has hairline cracks.  I stitched it for the time being so it doesnt get worse.  :smt005.
