Got some last minute WAF, and I was off like a shot.
Launched from Wragg Canyon - $10 day fee. Campsite 88 had nice little muddy trail just big enough to slide the yak down to the beach. Once on the water, Turkey birds and crazy campers traded the mike...it was hilarious. The gobblers would call, then this guy would answer with an absurd turkey impression...on it went.
It was overcast and a bit chilly till at least 1:00. I tried the rocky points with plastic worms - didn't get bit until about 11:00. I ended up with 2 bass 13-15 inches. Trolled back to the campsite and got bit, but it was off quick.
First time lake fishing from my kayak. Lots of tangles - just getting used to the work area.
I had trouble with the 1.5 lb anchor I bought for the trip - it was useless on a smooth bottom. Anybody else have that problem?
Pictures will follow.
