My son and I hit Orwood Resort 7:30ish on 3/2 headed up to Franks tract were the wind was blowing about 15 mph and the water was 48 deg surface temp. Thats 7 deg less then last week at 55 deg. Fished all over Franks and Sandmound for Nada. The water was somewhat clear here. Moved to the middle of the delta with the same results. Then headed to Tower park. The closer we got to the San Joaquin the water had turned chocolate and the temp was still @ 48 deg. The idea is to find water in the 55 deg range and the bass will be more active. The cold front from last week and the rain chilled the Delta down. Had lunch with my son then proceded south toward Union pt. The water was 50 deg. Fished a bit for Nada the keeped moving south. Hit Old river not to far from where we put in and hit 53 deg. things are looking better. Thur the whole trip we pitch casted cranked basically Thur all I had. While on Old river the we managed to find some willing bass. We caught 9 in about 2 hrs from 3:00 to 5:00 pm all males getting ready for some love :smt007 But we did not even see a female or a nest. The fish were all taken on 7 inch Senko in Pearl :smt006
