I felt it was time to replace my saltwater gear so I picked up an Okuma Cold Water reel and an Offshore Angler rod.  What surprised me, is that the rod is surprisingly small yet rated for some heavy line (30-65lb).  They had the 6'6 medium action and 7' fast action models and I opted for the 6'6 as I think the shorter rod would be better on the kayak and for transportation.  I've never really seen these rods before and their other models get some good reviews, but there's literally zero online in the way of reviews or whatnot.  Anyone ever use these before or have any input?

What's even better, is I can slide the entire rod into the center storage compartment of my trident 13

Did you intend to pair a casting/conventional reel with a spinning rod, or was it an oversight?

If it's the latter, I would recommend exchanging. The guides on spinning rods are designed to handle forces pulling away from the rod, while the guides on a conventional rod are designed to handle forces pushing toward the rod. It may work just fine, but if I were dropping $ for new gear I'd want to get it right.

Good catch lol.  I already swapped it out for the OM66MHT rod which is rated for 50-100lb line. Honestly, I've spent my whole life pretty much buying the rod and reel combos that I overlooked that minor detail haha.
