There will be a Total Lunar Eclipse tomorrow for the Eastern US all the way to Asia....Check it out

I don't know how many of you study the effects of planetary objects on wildlife but I was reading some story that seemed to make sense of it....I wish I would have saved that link....

So it goes that you will catch more BIGGER fish during extreme moon phases (New and Full) particularly at sun/moon rise and set. Tomorrow, weather permitting, I'm going to see if I can't land a lunker. Full moons always seem to make me a little KooKoo so I hope the fish are the same...

I'd like to know what you guys think...Maybe we can start collecting data on what time of day we are catching fish not just the size...I'm interested to see if there is a difference between ocean and freshwater fishing during these times and I'd like to know if the fish caught during these times are bigger than those caught at other times of the day.

Here is an interesting site that will tell you what time the sun and moon are rising and falling on a particular day at just about any location

http://aa.usno.navy.mil/data/docs/RS_OneDay.html

The theory is that during a 60-90 min window surrounding the sun or moon's rise or setting fish/wildlife become more active, even more so during a new or full moon. If anyone is interested you can add your catches to this thread or PM me and I'll start up a database

Most times fishing during the day 3 days before and 3 days after a full moon is a waste of time.  The fish can see at night and feed at night.  They sleep or be a couch potato in day light.  Only, fishes I know that you do good on are the bluefin tuna & billfish.  Catfish during the night is great also during a full moon period.

Weather like fog or clouds can change that theory, also.
