High Water

I went out to Liberty Island today. I thought I might explore the high water and try some sturgeon fishing out of the main flows. When I got to the bridge at Shag Slough I knew it was a no go. I got some photos and video of the high water. Anyone have high water photos from your area? Post em if you got em.

The water is really flowing.

This is about a mile up frame the bridge where you can make the right turn. Above this point is a dead end and water only flows from the channel straight across. There is a lot of water flowing across the farm land I guess. I don't know if it is comming from the bypass or what.

Ken, I'd guess all of that water is coming through the weir on the Sacramento.

I talked to a guy that kayak duck hunted yesterday,  he said it was RIPPING at Liberty island. Lots of birds though he said.

That is the water returning to the sloughs from the Yolo Bypass. Coming from the Sac weir.

Flow from Shasta lake is 36,000 cfs, this time, time last year it was 3300 cfs

The first picture is behind the dam at tiny Vasona Lake today, and the second is Los Gatos Creek at some random spot between Lexington and Vasona.
