Anyone have any good tips on what's a worthwhile visit or excursion? This will be my first trip up to Alaska and we will we stopping in Juneau, Skagway and Ketchikan.

Anyone have experience on a Skagway fishing charter? Looks like it will be prime King Salmon season.

A couple years back I went on a private tour out of Skagway with an awesomely funky local named Sherry.  It was a highlight of that cruise vacation.

I'd think the fishing would be good to great anywhere in the southeast, post up on NWKA to get some more specific advice on fishing in AK.

Just got off the Explorer of the Seas in Seattle. Visited Juneau, Skagway and Victoria. The weather was great the entire cruise.

Now we're stuck at the airport with a 6 hour delay. That sucks.

Thanks for the tip Crash. I booked a fishing charter in Skagway with my dad. We'll be targeting king salmon. My dad hasn't fished in years so hoping we can get him hooked up on a big one. We should have time to roam around as well since we're in port in Skagway the longest.

Sounds like the same trip itinerary Alfredo! Sounds like you enjoyed yourself!

The best tour in Ketchikan, although I think the price is high, is the Bering Sea Crab Fisherman's tour. A lot of history, plus feeding eagles so you can get pictures of them swooping down on the fish, a long lining demo where they put the catch in tanks for viewing and they catch four types of commercial crab with different rigs for each and let you hold/ photo-op all the live crabs except for the Dungenous, due the pinchers
