I am new to Kayak fishing and stuck on which one I should get
Wilderness Tarpon 120  or Ocean Trident 13
I like both Tarpon has better seat the OK 13 has better storage
USE ; Recreational, fishing, Camping (1-2 days)
I will be fishing in different area --  River nothing over a class II rapid , Lake Tahoe, Delta, Tamales Bay (crab season)
   My size is 5'-10" 190lbs

you can always buy a better seat that are very comfortable with gel padding. storage is at a premium so I picked OK. I have T13 and it's the best kayak i have own.

My questions would be 1. Have you Demo'd them ?

2.whats your budget ? (if it matters )

3. Did you know you can upgrade seats ?( which I'm sure you knew is possible )

Thanks everyone I was leaning towards the OK 13 I will just up grade the seat my budget out the door is around $1,300 which should be no problem for either one of these we have Adventure Sports Kayak City in Sacramento that usually has really good deals

I don't think you could go wrong with either boat , that being said I have a OK T-13 , it has been a very good kayak for me , but I could have easily gotten a Wildy just the same ..it was a budget consideration at the time and the T13 was the right price at the right time with seat /paddle thrown in on the deal  :smt044

Good luck with your choice !

Malibu Stealth 12' or 14' I like the 14 for the additional hatch and storage.. Or look at the xfactor if you go with a 14' and want incredible storage...

For what you are describing it would be a super stable platform (faster and straighter then a trident) and 2-3 times more stable then both!! If you want to paddle one, I have an extra. I've owned both the tarpon and tridents, loved my tarpons for speed (120,140 & 160i), didn't like the trident that much (felt slow and tracking was all over the place) but I am in love with what Malibu is doing now a days..

Fast, stable, light (compared to others) and would be great for your storage you are looking for while camping crabbing fishing whatever.. They are in my opinion excellent boats for beginners to experts.. Always paddle a boat before buying!! But I've owned a ton and I've finally found my pride and joy! Good luck finding yours! But from what I read I think you'll be quite impressed!!
